The Story of Wage Farm
Where It All Began
Permaculture and regenerative farming can heal the land, end hunger, and empower a generation of women.
Isaac Muhofa grew up watching his mother a hardworking primary school teacher do something extraordinary. On top of her full-time job, she cultivated a small organic farm. She grew food for her family and sold the surplus. And with that income, she paid school fees for Isaac and his siblings.
That Image never left him. Years later, after earning a bachelor’s degree in Conservation Forestry from Makerere University, after leading youth environmental enterprises, after presenting at Oxford University about girl child education, after managing farms and community projects across Uganda Isaac asked himself a question:

“What if we could support, train, and connect thousands of women just like my mother to reliable markets?” “What if we could grow food in a full ecosystem that supports biodiversity, restores soil, and captures carbon while generating dignified income for women?”
That question became Wage Farm in 2019.
The name WAGE stands for Women and Girls Empowerment because Isaac understood a truth that data now proves: target the women, and you change the entire community.
